Typhoon predicted to make landfall
In the hours before the Typhoon made landfall, World Vision deployed Speed Evidence customising the input streams to capture relevant information from communities and the media.
Assessment data combined with social data
World Vision deployed teams to conduct rapid needs assessments within 48 hours of the Typhoon making landfall. This data was sent to the portal, which meant it was combined with data from SMS, social media, and humanitarian information websites – all in real time.
Data from the rapid needs assessment was displayed on the Speed Platform within minutes of data being collected and analysed.
Real-time notifications and updates
Users can set up customised alerts on the platform - they will then be sent SMS/emails at the frequency they prefer with the updates they've requested from the Speed Platform.
Data available for learning
The experience of the Typhoon has been captured in real-time and stored so it can be reviewed for learning and training.
